SUGGESTED TIMELINE FOR TRIP PLANNING ACTIVITIES
- January – Pay the $1000 Deposit to secure your seat for the trip
- February – Pay 1st payment or pay in full
- March – Purchase Airline ticket
- Book flight from any USA city to COO (Cotonou airport code in BENIN)
- Book your ticket to arrive a day before so you can arrive by the start day.
- Return from Accra – ACC
- March – Start applying for VISA Application for BENIN – Online application
- VISA application for TOGO in APRIL – Online application
- VISA application for GHANA in MAY – Online application
- Most of the Visa application are $140 each
- Visa application usually take 48-72 hours online.
- April – 2nd payment or pay in full
- May – Finalize visa application to the three countries
- MAY — Final payment due June 10th before the trip
- It is important that we receive your final payment to close your trip and secure your accommodation for the trip if the last payment is not received, you are not coming to this trip, you will have to join the next tour dates.
- June – Packing requirements
- Pack light but necessary, including:
- Tennis shoe, close toe shoes, dressy shoes, and sandals
- Clothing: comfortable clothes for a day tour, the temperature in West Africa is between 75 and 90 F in the summer month.
- Jewelry – Go on light jewelry for daytime and glamorous for nighttime
Accessories and Make up for Ladies: It is hot and humid so plan accordingly
- Leave some space in your luggage for shopping if you are interested in bringing back some souvenirs and some clothes and jewelry from the trip
Clothing: pack clothes for night adventure and dinner evening and gala.
- June – Vaccination requirements – Visit a health center to get the necessary vaccinations before you travel.
- Yellow fever is usually recommended and required
- More vaccine might be needed depending on your country’s passport
- Get ready to have fun, retrieve all cash money or get your bank card ready by calling your bank to inform them that you are traveling to BENIN, TOGO, GHANA, in case you want to use the ATM to withdraw money for shopping and snacks.
- Remember we cover most of your expenses over there, except tipping, and your personal shopping
